In a fox body, I believe you have to replace the steering column, or fabricate something to get the clutch in there. You'll need a new brake pedal too. Then of course, you gotta cut the floorboards and rig up the brackets. I believe the clutch pedal is the hardest part of the swap. You may need to grab another driveline off the manual as well.

I did it a few years back in the vert I had, so here's the list as best I recall:

-Tranny
-Clutch
-Flywheel
-Bellhousing
-As far as I could tell, the driveshafts were the same, except that the one you have now has a big ring at the tranny end, to be honest I have no idea what thats for or whether it makes a difference.
-Pedal assembly out of a manual car.
-Cable (I just went ahead and bought a billet quadrant with firewall adjuster, and that came with a cable)
-Reverse Light harness
-Shifter (along with the boot and plastic ring)
-Appropriate Speedometer gear (that goes on the tranny)
-May or may not need the manual crossmember, I can't recall, but I wanna say I replaced mine.

Right now that's all I can think of. The hardest part is getting the new pedal assembly in there, just because its cramped, and if I recall correctly you have to lower the steering column. Otherwise everything else just bolts in.

If you have any specific Q's post them, and I'll post anything. I also reccomend searching the forums, lots of people have done the mod (It's well worth it). When I did it, there was a website that someone put up on yahoo detailing their switch, I reccomend searching the web for that.

Hope that helps.

I just did one a couple of weeks ago for my buddy and this list pretty much covers it. Good luck! :nice:

I see the posts about switching from automatics from time-to-time. I'm thinking of going the other way. A trade could be possible. It might be worth a conversation.
This is not a reference to the car in the sig.
in a case like this i would advise to switch cars and maybe some cash depending on the condition of each of the cars.

as for the swap... do it! it's worthit
