This is strange... I have had a vibration since I replaced the tranny, balanced tires etc. Finally had my son Tom at Pauls Auto drive the car and he said driveshaft, when we pulled it we found this... Wierd I know it wasn't that way when I installed it??

Hi
Here is another link to 1 of above photo's. I don't know what happen it doesn't look like it was hit by anything. I think it was out of balance before this happen. Should have been tacked again I guess. Out being balanced.

If that is the weight, get it rebalanced.

Hmmmm I am having a bad vibration issue since I swapped to a TKO 600. Maybe I need to inspect my driveshaft more thoroughly.

That's weird. As I recall, mine just has a quarter sized blob tacked on to the DS itself (does yours have some sort of wrap-around bracket?).

Definately get that thing balanced - I'd get it dynamically balanced if you can.

Slvr, were you anal about centerline during your install?

Good luck to all.

Most tremecs will do that. The tail shaft of the tranny needs to be raised up to get the pinion angle back to where it needs to be.

Hi
Took the driveshaft off Tuesday night had it balanced Wed. and put it back on $50, still had a vibration about 75mph. My son Tom said he thought one of the rims in the back might be bent so put the DR's on and the vibration is gone. Well still a small one around 80 that you can drive through. So a new Prostar for me. I think it was a combination of driveshaft and rim.

I'm pretty sure that the FRPP alum DS that I had had a wrap around weight like yours (but actually attached).
