OK, I'm not real famillar with this strut setup, but what keeps the wheels from having latteral motion. In there add I see no upper or lwer control arms . Am I missing something. And is this or fat man a good alternative for the front suspension.
They used the fatman system on the fastforward fastback, by Troy Trepanier. I believe it is a fiarly nice system and is similar to the late model setups. The only concern that I have heard of is that strut systems can cause positive camber in hard turns.

I am going to guess you still use the lower control arm. If not then it comes with something to replace it. But this leads me to believe you keep the lower. "Because the chassis has reduced stress by fitting an RRS conversion kit, (which also eliminates the Ford upper-arm) the shock tower can be cut away and plated". Since it only mentions the upper going away. It looks like the coilover setup I put on my 98GT. And from seeing how much stress that put on the strut towers, I have a problem with this statement.
"The strut mounting eliminates 100% of the stress exerted on the middle of the original Ford shock tower by the standard upper-arm, which operates as a lever on the original spring and shock absorber and as much as 50% less stress at the spring seat."
Well yeah. You taking it all out. Then this one.
"The vehicle weight is primarily carried by the shock-tower spring location. When an RRS strut kit is bolted in place, the chassis is less stressed than original Ford suspension setups".
So now you have gone from a 50% load to a 100% on the spring seats. And the middle was thicker with the way the engine mounting supports go in.
I would say for dragrace only where weight might be a problem this might be an answer. For street use I would be afraid of it.
