Hatch Issues

I hope this is thr right part of the board to put this in but I need some help.

I was trying to open my hatch this morning so I can remove it to fix some things on it and well the hatch isnt opening at all. I can stick the key in and actually turn it but the latch itself isnt moving.

I need some suggestions cause that damn thing has me pretty mad at the moment, and I have no clue what I can do to get it unstuck. So any help or suggestions would be great right now seriously

you can take a screw driver and climb though the back seat and get it to pop open

yeah I ended up just squeezing my big ass into the back and took apart the latch itself from the hatch

You do know the ignition key needs to be in the on position in order for the button to open the hatch, right?
I didnt know that when I got the car and I thought the switch was bad.
