I am having my 8.8 completly redone this week. I am putting in a 31 spline t lok, 31 spline axles rebuild kit, etc. I bought the rebuild kit from summit with the seal and it came with synthetic gear fluid. 3 quarts. Is there any other grease or fluid I need? I am having a shop do it, but I just want to make sure I have everything set. Any other tips of help with the build? Thanks

Depending on what unit you use, you may need friction modifier.

Summit's kit came with 75-140 synthetic gear oil with gl-6. I bought the Ford Racing 31 spline tracktion lok. I thought I saw something about t-lok additive but I am not sure.

When rebuilding a rear, i know that with a factory traction loc and an auburn, you need to put in friction modifier.
Supposidly it keeps the clutches lubed up so the rear doesn't seize up then wear itself out.

I've been told some fluids already contain it.
But don't quote me on that, because i've always put it in myself.
You can get a bottle of it directly from ford.

Exactly. That's why I asked.
