head bolts

Do the head bolts need to be replaced when the heads come off? where can i get them?

on most engines, head bolts are torque to yield, meaning that yes, they need to be replaced after being removed. I don't have a specific source available in front of me, but there are two good places to check.

First, it you only have minor modifications, get some new bolts from ford. The second, and likely better option is to contact ARP either directly or through Summit, and see what they have available either in bolts or studs....

Ford shop manual confirms they are a 1 time use, torque to yield bolt,
ford part# 5R3Z 6065-AA retail $4.17ea.

Summitt Racing... get the Ford Racing Stage 8 locking header bolts... You'll pay more up front but have less problems later.
