I am in the process of putting my heads back on. I went and bought new grade 8 bolts and I have broken two of them in half each time after taking the head off and drilling the broken bolts out with easy outs. I was wondering if I need to get special bolts or if I just happen to get a couple of bad ones. I didn't even get to 90 ft/lbs on the torque wrench. I am using the bolts that don't have the integrated washer on them. I when down to the hardware store and bought them, I figured if it was grade 8 then it should be the same as the ones from the auto parts store. They were cheaper but I guess you get what you pay for.

Hardware store bolts are not headbolts. 
Pay the forty bucks for the ARP bolts, even the parts store Fel-Pro set will work, headbolts are one of the areas that the 5.0 wont let you cheap out on; or you'll have a blown head gasket fast.
