I'm reading conflicting things about cylinder head bolts... Is it okay to reuse them or best to buy new ones? I've never heard of bolts that can only be used once......

i just went through the same problem. do i reuse the bolts or purchase new? the stock bolts are "torque to yeild" which means that once those bolts are torqued to spec they have been stretched to their limit and should not be reused. if you do a search on this you will find most people have had horror stories when reusing stock bolts. too many things can go wrong. so i went ahead and just paid $40 for new ARP bolts that i can use as many times as i want. i have too much money and time invested in my motor for something to go wrong because of a damn bolt. im sure your the same. just my opinion.

somewhere around the mid 90's they used torque to yield bolts, and those must be tossed. However, on the earlier 5.0's, they weren't tty bolts and can be re used
