head bolts

i am installing the heads on my engine tonight and i was wondering. i am replaceding the old cast heads with new alum. heads. do i need washers on my head bolts to keep from digging in, or should it be ok with out the washers? the cast heads didnt have any washers on the bolts.

they should have the washers with them.

your not reusing head stock head bolts are you?

no they are not stock bolts, anhow thick should the washers be?

the ARP washers are made for the bolts. if you dont have the correct washers for them id order new bolts
