I've been stuck on a seismic boat for 2 months and have been combing the forum to keep sanity (and learn about stroker motors). I can't find an answer for this question though:

IF you were to build a budget 393, using a 3.85in crank, stock rods and 302 pistons, the general consensus on compression is around 12 (give or take depending on cc of the chamber).

Could you run a thicker head gasket to get it back down to 10.5ish for pump gas? Or would that be too thick to work?

If i run Trick Flow heads, I need pistons with valve reliefs for them, or will dished pistons work? (dished might also lower the comp. ratio too, right?)

Thanks, I'm just now getting back into the game after a 5 year college hiatus. All help is appreciated.

Yes you can. just look or a gasket with a larger compressed thickness.
