does any body know how to find the right push rods out i have a set of stock gt 40 iron head fully ported and polsih 3angel vavle job all new valves and seal spring but the guy used chevy valve he said it was a old racer trick do you think i should just go ahead and buy a new set
Should be the same size as you were using. Alot of machine shops will say they put chevy vavles in. I had that done on an old set of TFS heads. Worked fine. Your pushrods should be fine but if you want you can get a pushrod length checker and find the perfect length and order some hardened ones from comp cams or a similiar place. That would be the ideal route to take!
careful !! the chevy valve ISNT the same length as the Ford!! Chevy in a ford heads are cool... IF there is an adjustable valve train !! bolt down pedistall will need a different push rod!! the machine shop should be able to help ya!
