I need some new head studs or bolts but it seems arp is a fricken ripoff charging over 100 dollars for the studs or bolts does anyone else know where i can get them or another brand for cheapier. I hate to spend more head studs/bolts than i did on my entire fellpro gasket set.

im not sure about strength wise between the studs and bolts, but you get more accurate torque readings with studs. i know most high high horsepower heads use studs. at least from what ive seen.

the good thing about studs is that you can reuse them like 5 times...bolts, i believe, are not supposed to be re-used. My ARP's were around $100 I believe, but I didn't get them from summit, I got them from the local speed shop, which gets things around the same prices as summit - some cheaper, some higher

arp head studs/bolts can be used more than 5 times. They will probably last for every motor you want to build. As long as they arent streched, theyd be fine.

cheap head bolts

Believe it or not, you can get decent quality head bolts right from NAPA. I used a set on an '85 GT and had no problems. When I bought them the entire set was around $40.

Engine Might have to get a Dart block but don't want to and if I do, then 363 instead of 331. Thoughts on what I've already bought so far.......
