hi

i had planned to originally stay stock for a little while but a friend recently went afr and his practically giving me his victor heads.

my question is will the head and block surface require machining if "it looks straight"?

or can i just clean it up nice(if it looks straight) and install the head/block with new head gasket?

what headgasket would you guys recoment for mile 302?

if you can spot a deck thats level just by looking at it, you should get a medal.

Aluminum heads almost always require a resurfacing, it would be a good idea to have a machine shop go through them and make sure everything is up to par, there are other things to worry about besides the deck, like the springs, valve seals, guides etc.

If your getting the heads cheap, then spend the money now, befor they are on the car and you realize its a problem.

Also, why is he getting rid of the victor jrs for afr's?
