header bolt size

after breaking 2 water pump bolts and not having replacements im looking for header bolts to replace the stockers when i do my exhaust next week.

what size and thread pitch do the stock heads take? ill be using nothing but grade 8 stainless with lock washers.

ok one more question.

i got the bolts in 2/4 and one inch.

now i need to know what size to get for the header to h pipe. i hate useing old bolts.

5/8 coarse, by the way dont forget lock washers for the header bolts and the flange bolts.

Oh and use the 1" long bolts for the headers

Yep, 3/8”-16 either at 3/4" or 1.0" length - go with 1" if they don't bottomout with your header flange thickness.

the stock header bolts are 3/8x16x3/4 sae.

I used the 1" Long ones with my Ford Racing Headers as they have a pretty thick Flange
