I have done the passenger side and am going to try and finish up the drivers side tomorrow. The problem I am worried about is the bolt closest to the front of the car, it is quite tricky to get to. Does anyone remember what they used to get to it when they did their header swap? Thanks

I used a long open ended wrench and a whole lot of patience. There's no way you'll get a socket in there unless you get creative with universal joints and extensions, etc. And yes, it was a pain in the ass, but well worth it. :D

when i put my shorties in, that bolt was the only pita of the entire swap. i took the battery out with the the battery box and unbolted the compressor. i took the battery out to get to the compressor bolts. if you can get to it w/o removing the battery, more power to ya. there is only 4 bolts holding the compressor on and they are real close to the battery. the ac line gets in the way of getting a socket on the bolt. to me, it was just easier to take the battery etc out instead of a bunch of cussing trying to play with that front header bolt. good luck

Damn. I've gotten so good at it, I can have that header out and in, in 45 minutes. I get to that bolt with a regular long socked, a 3" extension, and a 1/4" driver. I had a primary tube collapse the day before Thanksgiving one time, and pulled that header in a parking lot.
