I need to intall a set of shorty ford motorsport headers on my 01 gt. Is it possible to install the headers without dropping the k-member? Has anyone done this before? What is the best way to avoid sheering or breaking a bolt. Anyone in the Detroit Mi area want to make some extra money? I'm serious question. call me 313 318 1956 if you want to do it. if not .. help me with my qustions.

Im planning on doing an LT install this summer. How long and how hard was it to drop the k member? I dont think you need to worry about breaking anything, just dont over tighten anything while your installing the new headers. This might help you, http://www.fnsweet.com/garage/lt_install/index.shtml

Putting headers on a 4.6 is like getting kicked in the balls by a 2500lbs. bull never fun. How ever it could be worse it could be an LT1 . I hated life after I was don putting long tubs on a LT1 only to have them LEAK over and over and over again.

it is not that hard as i have done it on a few of these cars....if u undo the motor mount bolt and lift the motor on its side the bolts are accessible. it is still difficult nbut if you dont mind a little tight clearances it can be done. all u rerally need to do is undo the steering shaft(not neccassary) and the starter and u should be fine good luck
