Alright ppl i have some header problems. Everyday after i drive my car the header bolts seem to back themself out. It gets really old having to tighten the dam bolts up everyday. I was wandering what the trick is to getting them to stay like drop a couple drops of red loctite on them or what. And i not using stage 8 locking header bolts my dad has those and he hates them. I was wandering if anyone here has tried those breslin header bolts and if they are any good or not

I'll let you know on the breslin bolts in a week or so. I ordered mine last night after they were highly reccomended here.

It'll probably take me a week + to get them in the car though once they come in as I have a few other things to do at the same time.

Are you using lock washers? Are tehy original bolts or better than that (ARPs or similar)?

why can't you use red loctite with aluminum heads? Does it dissolve the aluminum or what?

Try wrapping the bolts with teflon tape.

I got the Breslin bolts, but the one's I got are too short. So I needd to return em and get longer one's. Then I can tell you how mine work out.

What length did you get?

Any tips for getting the front 2 bolts on teh driver side out?

I fought with them fora maybe 40 minutes and only got one nut off the second one.. I i still have one more nut before i can remove the lift backet then to remove the 2 studs...

Have you tried loosening all the others to allow the header to be pulled away from the head?

Sometimes if you just wiggle the header around it really helps with some of the tough bolts.

the stage 8's were a royal PITA. getting the locking plate to sit whel you push the c-clip on is much more of a hassle than i think it is worth. i ended up using the stage 8's with none of the locking stuff on them. as far as them backing out goes, after i went over them a few times after the first week of the install, they stayed put. no loc-tite, no teflon, etc.

well everyone sumed it up for the most part! i used red loctite and instead of using the bolts supplied with the header's i used some allen head ones , makes it easier to get to and tighten, and i'm using cast heads not alumn. peace
