When I get ready to drop the engine back into "sally" next Spring I plan on replacing the stock exhaust manifold with a header. I did have a header in it a few years back, but after almost 5 years as a DD the header was toast.

So my question is this.......for durability, what is the BEST coating to go with, chrome, ceramic or powder coat?

Jet hot is a nice coating... don't chip it and it will last longer then the headers themselves. If you go with coated in and out, they MAY out last the car!.

I agree "Jet Hot" coating is the best and will last the longest and will cost the most. It is a high temp coating so it will not melt, crack, peel, or change color over time. It cost about $250 for long tube headers, but your headers should last forever. I will let you know in 20 years how it is holding up......but you might have to remind though.

yeh it is a ceramic, like the offering from High Performance Coatings - HPC. They do it in different colours as well.
