How do you fix arcing from the passenger side header, next to the egr tube and the spark plug boot, not sure but i think itz cylinder #4? I could see and hear it in the dark. Is there an easy fix? I have msd wires and bbk ceramic shortys. And might this cause a loss of power and hesitation at WOT?

Did you try replacing the spark plug? I've had a bad plug cause that before. Also, are you using dielectric grease on the plug connectors?

Oh and yes this would cause a loss of power. If it is arcing out you are most likely not firing on that cylinder.

actually im in the process of doing a complete tune-up. I haven't really tried anything. I was thinking that the headers were causing this and not the wires. I'm going to replace the wires with ford racing and hope for the best.

id get new plugs and new wires..... to be sure to fix the problem. electricity flows through the path of least resistance..... it should be through the wire and through the plug... if its arcing to the header that means that is the path of least resistance meaning there is a problem with the plug or a crack or a hole in the wire boot.... check both

yes if the electricity is arcing to the header that means that cylinder is probably not firing = power loss

Theres gotta be some major problem for the path of least resistance to be jumping an air gap to the header. This happened tome on my 88 because there was a tiny tear in the boot of my wire on the number 6 or 7 wire and it was arcing out to the oil dipstick tube which was loose and rubbing. Whats the gaap on the plug / condition of the wires?
