The wrap traps moisture/heat and will eventually rot out your headers. Not good for a daily driver.

If you drive in the rain, the wrap can trap moisture and cause pre-mautre rusting on the surface of the headers...

But the stuff does work. Also, if you are having hot start issues, there is a starter blanket that you can buy (bacially header wrap for the starter)

Edit: Mavrick beat me to it

thats what i was thinking. what if i were to put por-15 on the headers first then wrap it? por-15 is excelent for preventing and stoping rust but not sure if it will hold up to all that heat?

I have header wrap and i still have hot start problems. I don't think its worth it. If your worried about hot starts, get the mini starter. If your really concerned about how the heat will affect anything else, get the headers ceramic coated.

I used jethot to coat my kooks headers. The stuff works awesome. After shutting the motor down when it's hot you can touch the headers after about 10 minutes of cool down time. Plus they look hot. not a great pic.

my hooker sc headers are the painted versions, i couldn't spend ~$100 more for jet hot, no money, but the paint right near the exhaust ports burned off within the first few seconds of first time starting. I almost crapped my pants seeing all that smoke lol.

You can see it in this picture, damn header paint.
