Does the header gaskets that come with bbk long tubes work, or will they leak?

This is gonna sound really weird but I had heard the same thing from some people about the BBK header gaskets leaking and when I asked my mechanic who was gonna use them on my install he said that "if you soak them in water they should be fine" whatever the **** that means.....????

I am guessing you have a '99. if it is like my '02 we used the stock metal gaskets and had no problems

From what I've seen, headers usually come with some pretty crappy gaskets. I personally wouldn't use any of them. Just do it right the first time and spend the money on the thick metal gaskets. Just my 2 cents.

autozone has them, and they pretty cheap..its worth it instead of creating a hassle

Use stock Ford metal gaskets. I used them almost two years ago w/ my BBK headers and no leaks. Also invest in locking header bolts.

I used the gaskets that came with the BBK LT. I installed the KB S/C kit two days ago, and now I'm hearing to a small leak, which I assume comes from the headers. It might be the gaskets. I suggeste that you get the job done right...get good gaskets.

trust me you do not need to go out and buy any gaskets.....just use the metal ones that are on the car now.

Reuse the stock one that are the car now, they work just fine
