So I thought there was an issue with the new terminator clutch because once it went in this popping and squeaking started up as the clutch engaged in 1st gear or on hard shifts. I got under the car yesterday and saw a spot where the drivers side long tube was banging against the floor pan. I got a flash light and could see a crack in the rubber of the driver's side mount. To make matters better, the engine has dropped on the driver side enough that the header is getting gauged by the frame(hopefully it hasn't caused a small leak). So I need motor mounts.

Should I get factory replacements or prothane/energy? Is one better than the other? Also, I need to move the engine up a bit on the drivers side to get a little more clearance between the steering shaft and one of the long tube primaries. How high will the engine sit with the new mounts? I wasn't sure if afermarket was higher or lower.

Finally, how hard will the install be? With the long tubes on, is it something I can accomplish in the driveway or should I take it in somewhere?

There was a previous thread on motormounts? An i went with Energy/polyurethane? little pricy but you get what you pay for an they last way longer than oem rubber. Solid mounts were another choice bout half the coin? I just didn't choose that route at this point in my moding? You can do these yourself an save money? I did mine myself an a buddy helped an to be safe when up under your car prying, shakin, an cussin...
couple jackstands, a plus if you have an impact, long extentions an swivels a jack ofcourse an bout 4-6 hours??
now LT Headers will give you little less room to work?
I also had to remove the starter on the passenger side of the motor to get to just 1 bolt?? thats when the cussing came in... an only got louder an jack the front of your motor up but becareful where you do this! At the front of the oilpan ONLY on the little lip?? an not to jackup on the crank pulley. Slide out the old an in with the new

Yeah, I wouldn;t htink twice about doing the work myself exceot for the headers. Can anyone chime in who has done the motor mounts with headers installed? Also, while I'm at it, should I do transmission mounts too? I saw summit has an enery suspension set with both.

If thats for mounts an labor jump on it.
If thats just for the labor an you still have to buy the mounts?
These projects are where i save my money 'do it myself' an goes into other parts.
