Which brand of Long Tube headers will fit with an auto tranny? I've heard conflicting stories about Hooker and BBK. Any advice would be great.
Thanks guys.

BBk also makes headers for the auto, as does many other manufacturers.
Look around. I'm not sure the tranni type really makes a difference.

BBK does not fit. It will fit 5-speed only. The only ones I know that will fit the autos are Hookers and Mac. Jet Long tubes will fit ours also. SLP makes em too but not sure if it'll fit an auto. Hooker and Mac fit for sure. I'm thinking of going with Mac along with their catted shorty H-pipe. Have to stay legal here in Kali-for-ni-A.

Yeah I got a buddy thatz been trying to put bbk on his auto and I just found out today that they won't fit. He siad they was all hittin th tranny and stuff.. I say go with the hookers because mine were fairyly easy to put on. the driver side header comes in half so you can get to the bolts easier.

Sorry for posting incorrect info, I had no idea the tranni type affected headers. My bad.

Can you only put an X pipe on with the Hooker LT's?

Im not sure. I know that the x pipe is held on by a clamp instead of bolting on. X pipe are better anywho!

Because of the wide stance on the Hooker headers, only their x-pipe will fit their headers, unless, of course, you are willing to make some extreme modifications.

Before I ordered Hooker headers for my 2001 auto, I did some research. BBK made it clear that their headers would not work. I was told that only Hooker and Kooks would fit an auto. From the other posts, it sounds like MAC also will fit.

Mac will fit and that is what I'm using and I recommend getting the coated and not the HTS. The BBK's will not fit the automatics and Hookers will. Hookers like the Mac's you should get coated unless you don't mind rust and they will be in the $700 arena. The Hooker x-pipe is a slip fit and is the only one that fits. The Mac are the best for the money. Hookers are the only ones that allow you to work on the tranny without removing the passenger side header I believe.
Good Luck
