Headers I should Buy?

I have been in the market for 2 years looking for a 94-95 cobra in good shape when I stumbled across a 95 GTS.. yes a GTS with only 27,000 miles and in mint condition. I want to mod it and it already has 2 chamber flowmaster mufflers and 2.5" tips. I like the Off Road H and short headers. Wondering what company I should be looking at. Thanks.

95 GTS Black on Black, Kumho Z rated 17" tires, Flowmaster Mufflres, 96 or 97? cobra rims. K&N Filter.. no silencer, Alpine Head Unit

A few pics if your interested.

Hey congratulations on the purchase of your stang. Looks really clean. I just picked up mine a couple days ago as well...

A buddy of mine has bbk headers on his stang, and has no problems... I had a set of mac headers on my other mustang and (I know many have problems with them), had no problems with them either.

I would be looking at either bbk, bassani ($$$), or jba. Stangnet just switched it's parts review system over to a new sever (so they might be limited on reviews), however you may want to look over there as well and see what others have to say.

Hope I helped you out some.

If I where to buy a BBK 1994-95 Mustang 5.0L, 2.5'' Off-Road H-Pipe.. would I need, 1994-95 5.0 Mustang 1-5/8" Shorty (Polished Ceramic Finish) or this,
1994-95 5.0 Mustang 1-5/8" Equal-Length (Polished Ceramic Finish. Basically do I need shorties or Equal- Length Headers.. Does it matter, is one better then the other?

IMHO FRPP makes a high quality piece. Spend the extra dough to get the ceramic coated as they will not only last longer but look sweet! I'm going to be installing mine next month!

Shorties are similar to the factory tubes only without the crimped tubes. You'll notice that the length of the pipe is unique to each cylinder. The cylinders towards the front have longer tubing than the cylinders towards the rear of the engine. These are unequal length. The equal length are just like their name implies; they are still shorties, just that all of the tubes, regardless of the cylinder, are of equal length. There is not a tremendous difference in horsepower between the two. The equal length will be more challenging to install and also make the plug changing a little more difficult but they will make more power.

I would pick up the offroad x or h first... the factory headers really arent that bad at all, but mid pipe is terrible. just my .02. I have MAC ceramics and high flow cats right now, and I would rather have stock headers and an offroad midpipe any day. And welcome to the Black on Black GTS club!

I have the Bassani equals with a Bassani X o/r and a Mac cat back.
I also have a BBK H o/r, both pipes bolt right up to the headers with no problems. The plugs are a breeze to change and they all are a pain until you remove the egr stuff.
Don't get chrome they hold heat and discolor is what mine did before (BBK's).
I have a jet hot coating on the Bassanis and they are great.
