Headers on GT auto

Hi this is my first post but Im hopeing it will save me some time.
I just bought some new BBK long tube headers part number bbk1541
now one place tells me that thay wont work on my car its a 2000 gt auto
and these only work on 5 spd car then two outhr places till me that thay will
work fine does any one know for shure ?

I've only read of one guy who had them actually installed.

Most go with either MAC / Hookers, which do fit.

Your shure the mac will work are thay the same part number for 5spd and auto

MACs work.

As for the part number, you have to call them.

I don't see why not long tubes only go buy what year of the car not rather it's a stick or auto.

I could be wrong but I believe thats how it is.

I can help you out.

I was in the same positon as you about a month ago. No BBK will not fit unless you plan on grinding down the bell housing of the transmission. I am just curious before i start to ramble off names and prices are you going to run with a off road x-pipe (no cats and usually a lot louder but will not pass emissions) or a catted x (still loud half the amount of cats and will pass emission)

well i don't know if your on this forum this early in the morning so i will just tell you what would be best. Starting with the most expensive:

Kooks-1200
SLP-769
HOOKER-600 (o/r x only)
MAC-400

All except the SLP are ball park figures. I am going to be installing a set of SLP headers on my 02 GT Auto. Also of the ones i listed only MAC, Hooker, & Kooks can be installe and still allow you to service tour transmission if you needed to. With SLP headers you will need to remove the passenger side header.

Also if your going to take the step of purchasing header don't be cheap and get non coated headers. They will rust on you. Spend the extra hundred or two and get them ceramic coated. you will benefit fron this in the long run.

Thats a new brand too me where did you find them and that is realllllly cheap for longtubes!!

hedmann has been around for a long time. But they might be new to modular motors
