my dad has a really nice '78 II hatch. completely restored. we got a carbureted HO 308 in it and I was just wondering about exhaust. what do you guys do?

there is barely any room for the stock manifolds. any special headers made for the II's?

yup there are and you are looking at shelling out ~300 bones

hooker and hedman still make 'em

2.25-2.5 duals should be great depending on your H/C/I

I'm running Hooker Super Comps for my 306, but I'm going custom for the 408 I'm building.

I actually prefer the hedman headers because of the ease of installation.
the left side comes in 3 pieces with slip joints and the right side comes in 2 pieces. The only change i made is to take the front right side piece and cut the 90 degree bend that goes under the crossmember and install 2 45 degree bends so it hugs the crossmember.. I find that I can safely fly over speed bumps and not bottom out that front pipe.

I guess someone should give him the model number for the Hookers - 6120. About $300 per set, but excellent fit and do clear the T-5 without modifications if you use the Mustang II bell and the T-5 with the longer input shaft.
