Header Help

hey guys.... i am in the process of installing a set of bbk lt headers, and i am having a hell of a time doing it! I have heard that you have to grind or remove the k-member to complete the installation, and then i have heard all you need to do is loosen the motor mounts and jack the motor up enough to give you the clearance you need. I need help, if anyone knows or has step by step installation procedures please post them. thanks guys.

I just unbolted the motor mount bolt and jacked up the engine. I also had to unbolt the steering arm and I removed the starter. That was about it.

thanks, i have already removed the starter and steering shaft so just jacking the motor up should do it? Any mods after installation i should know about besides wraping the starter with heat wrap?

I didn't jack up the motor or take the k member off to put in my bbk equal lengths. I had to cut the header bolts off though to separate it from the h pipe though.

Take your time do it one side at a time. I didn't have to jack the motor up on the driver side, and I used an engine hoist and picked up on the passenger side just a little. That way I had plenty of room to crawl around under the car. Be careful of the lines and hoses near the firewall though.
