do you think those headers would fit the mustangII's? i think they would limit the steering but would look awesome in there.

lol sorry about this but one question, what about the crossmember that attaches both sides for the lower control arm strut rods? do you think you might have to modify them? i had to grind a small section for the heddman headers. can you tell that i REALLY like those headers

I don't have any personel experience with this particular header but the Pinto V8 swap headers that I worked with in the past went in with minor difficulty.
There should not be any xmember problem as its in the same place as the II.

Good Luck

I was eyeballing these too. Was curious if they'd work in the IIs aswell. IIRC these headers have 1 5/8" primaries? To go with the 347 I'm putting together, I want to top it with Roush 200s and the 1.5" ones I have now will just not fit the bill. Short of having a custom set fabbed up I was pondering the Pinto swap headers.

I thought someone on here was running a set of these on their car?

He is running the 351 swap headers. Those are for a 289 or 302.

So what would be the difference? (between the 351W and the 289/302 swap headers?) Primary tube sizes? Really, the 3/4" on either side shouldn't really make a difference. Or does it? RRRRRRRR.... I just need to buy the crap and figure it out I guess...

Gael, can you offer some insight and possible a few pics on the headers you're running, if they are pinto swap headers??

I am ruinning pinto/Mustang II swap headers but they are no longer made. They require a block plate, and removal of the motor mounts.

The 351 is taller than the 289/302.

Greater deck height than the 302, means it's taller and wider, too.

Well yeah i knew the 351W is slightly taller and what, only 1.5" wider at the deck (3/4" to each side to be exact) But that is so minute, wouldn't one thenk that there is enough 'play' in the header's fitment that you could use a 351W set on a 302 or vice-versa?

Yeah I've seen those, I really would rather not be forced into a block plate though. I didn't know they were out of production though. I could just see that type of header arrangement getting thrashed, all but to easily too.

Yup, running these on the street without front end spring mods will result in mashed headers. If I was to do it all over again I wouldnt go this route.

I see a potential problem changing the starter with these headers.

Actually they took that into account, if you look closely you can see a line across the 4 pipes. Thats a section where the pipes are bolted together with a tab. So you drop the collector and pull the pipes off and wala! starter access.
