haha no, I have never put on headers before, and he has only done it on other older cars that have a lot more space in the engine compartment. And, that's with food and smoke breaks..

Oh, I see. I thought you meant the other guy was good at it and that was the standard time even when you know what you are doing ha.

I'm telling you, that's about how long it took. My buddy does have SOME experience with headers, but not to the point where he knew exactly what to do the whole time. We did the whole, hmm.. what next kinda thing a lot.

I agree rev, if I had to do it again. I could cut that time down by 10 hours.

Apparently my ex-husband made that mistake.

I've got it down to about 4 hours, but there's a lot of stuff you just have to stare at for about half an hour and go wtf. Like what to do with the AC hose and stuff like that. Once you learn to jack up one side of the engine at a time, it saves a lot of time.

Jack up the engine? Like as in take it out? I didn't do any of that, just took out everything that was in the way and mounted them as is.

Well, that would explain the 16 hours. All you have to do is remove the one nut on the motor mount going to the K-member. Then put a jack under the oil pan (with a piece of wood), and jack up the engine one side at a time. The headers slip right in without removing too much. The driver's side goes up from the bottom, and the passenger side comes in from the top. You have to remove the starter, and that's it.
