I searched, but with the legendary suck factor of the Fox lighting systems I was buried in so many threads I couldn't find this particular problem.
Every time I replace my #4 fuse (10 amp) it blows as soon as I install it. Can someone please tell me what and how to check to find the short?

You may want to verify the fuse rating with your owner's manual. My '88 and '93 EVTMs show fuse 4 as a 15A fuse. There are no 10A fuses in the fuse box.

Sal is spot-on. My 88 also uses a 15 amper.

Thanks for the info- replaced it with a 15 and the same thing happened! Something must be in direct short, what do I check?

does the headlight work?
if not you probably have a short to ground before the headlight

Since it blows as soon as the fuse goes in, I would trace the feed from the fusible link to the fuse and switch.

Good luck.
