So I installed a set of HID's on my car. They plugged into the driver's side socket and the passenger side stayed empty.

The lights work, however, the high beam light came on in the dash very dim and did not allow the fog lights to come on. When I put the high beams on, the headlights do appear to get brighter or change pattern at least and the high beam indicator light becomes the correct brightness.

I also attempted to install a set of warning cancelers with no effect.

Anyone run into this before? I think I remember someone writing a review on American Muscle's kit about having to pull a relay from under the dash and cut a prong off, but I can't find it now.

Edit: Forgot to add. I put a stock bulb into the passenger side socket and the fog lights came on and the light went out on the dash.

I run my hids with no relay harness and have zero problems. Get rid of the harness and you will be better off.

I've tried using the warning cancels and not. Doesn't make a difference either way.

I'm sorry to hear you are still having problems with your HID's, it sounds like your HIDs harnesses are requiring to low of voltage which will give you electrical problems, e.g. like using LED's in place of your tail lights or side markers, in which turned on my dash board lights w/o my head light switch being ingauged.

Seems like you need to find a another HID company, its not your car, but your harnesses.

I tried to sell them, but felt bad when the new owner said he couldn't get them to work either. I figured I'd give it another shot in my car.

I found a few threads on line about people with similar problems. Each one is having issues with the dual beam.

Anyone who is more educated in how HID's work, read this thread and let me know what you think. I already registered and sent a PM to the user that seems to know the secret answer:

For anyone searching in the future:

Apparently the Mustang headlight socket is set up different than most other 9007 headlights. Not sure why.

I was able to get them to work properly by changing the positioning of the three wires that plug into the stock harness. They all have random colors, so you can't really tell which is power, negative or ground. I got it right on the first shot by switching the center wire with the driver side wire.

I busted the cheap adapter that plugs into the stock socket, but found one on ebay for a few bucks.

Driver side when it's plugged into the headlight. If I had to guess, I'd say the flat spot would be on the top.
