Headlight switch works fine but doesn't light up any more. Has anyone experienced this, and if so do you know how to repair, my car is out of warranty so I hate to pay the dealer for something so minor.

Did it ever light up or do you think it did? I ask because I'm sure I've seen a thread saying it doesn't light up and I'm not near my car to go and look.

The light switch should illuminate when you turn the switch on. The indicator for the fog lights illuminates only when the fog lights are on.

I went back and checked a previous thread on this topic. It seems as though the headlamp switch is not illuminated on some vehicles.

My headlamp switch does illuminate when the lights are on. Could it have something to do with model year? My Mustang is a 2007.

I looked in the 2007 Mustang Workshop Manual, page 413-00-1, and the headlamp switch is listed under the items that have dimmable backlighting.

My previous post should not have said that the switch should illuminate, because it now appears there may be a difference based on the model year. I should have just said that my switch illuminates. My bad.

I am not sure about the switch but am certain that the center light in it light up when fogs where on.

The switch on my 05 lights up. The knob itself doesn't but the ring around it does. I also have the MyColor option, maybe that has something to do with it.
