Title says it all really, when im racing the car im shifting anywhere from 5500rpm to 6000rpm depending on which gear. Around 5000rpm the lights dim out. Car doesnt miss or bog or anything its just the lights dim out. I run with as most electical stuff off as i can( radio, fan, heat, etc....). Just wondering about it.

:OT: anyone ever replaced a ball joint on their car???? I was going to but ended up changing the whole control arm because thats what the book said to do. Advanced auto sells just the ball joint, j/w if there is a trick to changing just the ball joint so that i know for next time

You have to press out ball joints to change them, I had a guy do one of the ball joints on mine years ago but I didn't see him do it so I don't know the particulars of it.

Its starting to get where you can almost buy cheap used tube control arms on ebay for the hassle of switching the balljoints.

THe only thing I could think of that would make your headlights dim at high rpm would be the drain the ignition is putting on the electrical system. If the alternator is old, maybe try a reman or rebuilding it. Or, for more fun (but more money) go with an MSD setup.
