Headlights out of adjustment

there was a thread on this a couple days ago to which i provided the answer to: there are 3 "prongs" that hold the headlight into the headlight panel--1 on the inside closest to the grill and 2 on the outside, one of top of the other.

8o [pony] o8

the one you really wanna get at is the the lower one on the outside on each side--remove the parking lamps to expose the phillips screw, or you can also remove the headlights and screw/unscrew the black adjuster at the end of the looong screw by hand which is a lot easier, although, as i said, you gotta remove the entire headlamp.

If you have the headlight adjusting tools it only takes about 15 to 20 minutes to set them perfect. I work at a dealership so I have access to them. I would suggest going by your local Ford dealership or a body shop. The cost will probably be less than 30 dollars.

Phillips-head screwdriver always worked well for me.

everybody needs one so go get one the chilton repair manual sold at your local parts store describes step by step instructions on how to do this properly. i'm looking at it now...it has some good diagrams and instructions...

The tools or kit I was reffering to actually attach themselves to the front of the headlight assembly and have mirrors and levels inside. The only handtools that you need if I remember correctly are a phillips screwdriver and a 4mm wrench and socket. With this kit attached to the headlights you simply turn the adjusters till the lines line up and the bubble on the levels are in the middle. Most dealerships and body shops use this type of system, instead of parking the car with the lights facing a wall and trying to aim them.
