Heads cam and intake package for 95 GT question

thats a myth. its really not that bad. i think when people have problems its more of a mechanical issue. i dont know, i guess im just one of the lucky ones. im am still on the stock maf and injectors. maybe once you change those you start to have problems

First of all ... Welcome to 94-95 :SNSign:

Greg has made what I think are some good points

When one does a h/c/i upgrade .........

Some of the time, you can find various mechanical adjustments like tb blade stop
screw, tb bleed screw, and the like need to be changed.

It may or may not help because each combo, even if similar parts are used, can
produce different drivability issues

As Greg pointed out, staying with the OEM inj's and meter will go a long way
in keeping things stable

It is my opinion ... You can't go as far as most would think with 19's
however
It you run them at elevated fuel pressure ... you can extend their ability

I am really opposed to this method as most tend to push it too far IMHO
but
I'll not elaborate here as you have asked about the pcm and cams

Now ... about the pcm

The info you have heard has SOME truth to it

Peeps always want to compare the older Fox pcm's to our pcm

Although each one is very different
Neither is good or bad IMHO
They just need different tuning methods

Now about cams

You hear this all the time ..........
Don't go too low with your lobe separation angle

Here is another one of those sayings that has SOME truth in it

I have seen many leave power on the table who have built their combo
around that statement

So ... Lets focus on the "REAL" concern here with 94-95 Stangs :Word:

Its all about ... NOT ... having to do a tune

I base that statement on the fact most peeps want to make our pcm operate
and behave in the same fashion as the older Fox pcm's.

That is just not gonna happen
unless
One stays very mild with their combo
or
They don't expect stock like drivability

The 94-95 pcm can be made to work very well with h/c/i combos
and
With a cam that has very low lsa cam specs
but
We are talking about a custom tune which will be costly

btw ... I base my info on NA and not power adder combos

Many peeps here have 302-306 NA h/c/i combos in the 300rwhp or
better range with low lsa cams and very stock like drivability

Hope this gives you some ideas or at least makes you think beyond some
of the stuff you hear from various sources out there

yeah like grady said the search button is your friend.

look at it this way, if your putting all the money into the engine and than expect it run perfect right off the bat without a tune, your nuts IMO. every car regardless of what computer it is, should get a tune to maximize the gains from the new equipment. just build in a dynotune into your budget thats all

This is why I got the Steeda 19 cam. No idle problems here.

Just wanted a cam I could throw in and have some fun with.

Works with 94-95 processor. Just my 0.02.
