I have a 99 mustang with 4.6L 2v it has 5.4L heads anyone know the specs of the heads trying to put new cams in but don't know what I can fit and Google isn't helping. Turning it into a 4.9 stroker and would like to keep the heads

They're the same heads and same cam specs. Only reason they'd be different is if it was from an early 5.4 then they'd be the NPI heads. Doing a 5.4 swap and I have two sets of pi heads they are identical ones off of a 5.4 ones off a 4.6

Little off topic but maybe y'all can help. Have a 99 gt and I'm changing head gaskets and then putting the typhoon intake kit with little bigger throttle body and MAF on it. Will be adding shorty bbk headers to it as well. Is it okay if i don't port the heads and leave normal.???

Man sounds like you had the same set up as me you should love it! I had the typhoon, 78mm throttle body, bbk MAF, bbk short headers, and kn cold intake and I loved my car was quick loved to race it. No dyno number or 1/4 mile times but it felt nice.

Sorry but to answer your question no you don't have to but you'd make everything work more efficiently if you did. But intsall them mods save up for a set of ported heads and swap them out in the future if you feel you need more power which you will lol. But get a good tune and if you have an automatic a stall converter will really help them mods.

Hey good luck man have fun modding!!!!
