I noticed when I turn my heat or ac on and put the fan on the highest setting and select ether floor vents, front vents, defrost- when I go to turn the tempeture knob towards the warm side the knob spins by itself towards the warm side of the tempeture knob. Then when I try to turn it back around to the cool side it resists alittle and if I try to position the knob so it is pointing straight up it spins towards the warm side.

A werid werid problem that doesnt seem to be effecting anything and both the warm and cold settings work- warm air comes out when it is set on warm and cold air comes out when it is set on cold.

Anyone have any ideas I can try to resolve this?

get a set of aftermarket knobs from UPR, the ones I have have a set screw
so you can tighten thier grip on the shaft.

Actually it sounds like the "shaft" that comes out the back of the knob has a bind somewhere in it. It is a flexible connection to the other end and if there is binding on the far end, the shaft will twist and spring back...

So wouild this be a problem to fix for the good of the car or just to fix the knobs from twisting on their own?
