Hey guys, swapping my motor and came across this issue. The motor im taking out (red fuel rails) has a square heater hose sensor, see pic. The motor replacing it has the roundish sensor, see pic. The harness in the car right now has both plug types (one is tapped in, see pic)

Do those sensors work differently and whatnot? Or nothing to worry about?

Use the sensor that matches your wire harness

There are two plugs in that area, one for the temp sensor, one for the purge canister valve, you don't say what your working on.

If that's a factory harness, the other lead goes to the charcoal canister. What are your wire colors?

Green and black wire are the colors on my etc sensor. That other plug looks like and injector plug as it doesn't match the plug to my charcoal canister

The sensor with the round plug is the original to the car. The squarish plug is the updated Ford part. When I rebuilt my engine, I went with all new Motorcraft sensors and had to get the squarish plugged sensor as I couldn't find the round Motorcraft one. Been running the car and it seems fine.
