Heater tube with EGR delete

I have deleted the EGR and throttle body spacer. With this move, it is my understanding, that I need a different heater tube. Is it possible to keep the same tube and just weld the existing opening (EGR cooler) that is no longer needed? Versus buying the one without it for $100.

Yes it is. Block that port by whatever means you deem suitable to you. The plug in the lower intake manifold is just a 3/8 npt plug

When I got my car the previous owner had put a short piece of hose on it with a bolt clamped in it. It looked like poop but it functioned!

I suggest the dab of jb weld and pinch method, then you can put a vacuum cap on it without worrying about it leaking and looks sanitary.
