Do they make an automatic transmission for the 5.0 that'll handle up to 500 horses or so?

I know that the stock auto, the A4LD can't handle much at all, and I was hoping that there was something I could run other than a manual to channel a lot of ponies.

Please, don't answer if you're only going to say "Dude, get a manual!"

I have a very specific reason for wanting an auto, and yes, I can drive stick.

Not really sure about that. I want something very nice and smooth that won't break if I stomp my foot to the floor.

Everything you need to know about building a bulletproof AOD. If you care more about preformance go C4. Read all you can about valve bodies and torque converters to get you started.

the a4ld was never used in a mustang. thats a truck transmission and was never bolted up to a v8. it was used in rangers and explorers until they came out with the 4r55e. just a little useless info
