Well just like i thought my 1.6 RR hit my stock valve covers or i should say valve cover. They are crane style 1.6 RR. And the driver side barely clears. The fill side hits big time... Ive heard of grinding things out of the cover to make it fit. But when i put the cover on it has about 1/4" gap so thats alot to take out. Ive been looking for valve covers that will fit with my EFI Trickflow intake... Please i know someone has to know something here..!!

Thanks
Craig

you can get aftermarket valve covers with a phenolic spacer between your upper and lower intake . I had a Trickflow with a 3/8" spacer and it cleared the stock hood no problem .

Some of the things other have done include -
Taller valve covers - A spacer can be used on the intake if clearance is needed.
Use 2 vc gaskets - the extra thickness will help with clearance
Remove the baffle, and grind down the underside of the vc. Be sure to reinstall some kind of baffle. If no baffle is used, then oil will be able to splash directly up the fill neck and flow into the intake manifold.

When I did mine I removed the stock baffle and grinded things down until the valve cover would sit flat on the vc rails of the head (doing this without the gasket in place ensures some margin of safety). I then fab'd a new baffle from some thin sheet of Al, and bonded it in place with some JBWeld. Not very pretty, but I don't look at the underside of my vc very often.

good luck
jason
