Help: 2v to 4v swap

OK I know that a 4v engine is better than a 2v. How much would it cost to change my engine to a 4v? How do they do this and what parts do you need to buy. I would want to add P/A cams also. How much do you think this would cost and would it be worth it.

Would keeping the 2v and just adding new P/A cams and some forgerd internals be just as good? Im looking at maybe S/C. Im not looking at running like 10s maybe like low 12s or 11s.

just buy a cobra motor. it will be cheaper and easier.


or, just buy a KB for your GT, get a dyno tune and some suspension and see the times you want.

yeah, either swap the motor or forge and blow that 2v

i went with the swap. i bought the engine for $3200, complete with accessories. some were able modify the gt and cobra harness to work (but mine didn't ), buy a couple of misc parts, and then get it chipped/tuned. check out www.cobrapoweredgt.com for all the parts that are needed.

I was looking into putting a cobra engine in my car,i asked laroccs performance here in jersey about it....he told me the harness would not work and a crate motor /supercharger combo would do the trick,so i opted for a saleen kit and left my block for now, just went little lite on the tune and im good for now.....horsepowers not cheap no way around it....good luck

I found an article on this in an old MM&FF. It says you're going to need " a complete timing chain assembly from a 4v engine, front cover, head gaskets, and all the associated hardware, including the heads and cam covers, DOHC intake and complete induction along with changes to the front engine dress (alternator, a/c, etc.) along with a tune."-MM&FF December 2004 p.42

I'd go with a supercharger, cams, port and polish, forged internals.
