I have the stock wheels and am in the process of polishing them up. Not cleaning them. I stripped the clear coat off the wheels and have polished the base aluminum to remove the machining marks. I'm currently at 400 grit. I will be using a heavy duty electric buffer and white rouge for the final polish. They should look like they are chromed when I'm done.
My problem is this:
I want to replace the center caps. I don't like the stock 5 hole units. A few years back I remember paging through a MMFF mag and seeing a different center cap. This one had no lug holes in it and had a highly polished finish. It also had no emblem in the center. Plain, round, polished and no emblem. And fits a 96 cobra wheel. I can't seem to find that particular design. I've seen caps with no lug holes, but they always have an emblem in the center. I'm going for that clean look.
Anyone?
