Help!!!!97 Cobra Only Getting 14 Mpg!!!

I definetly think you should clean the MAF as well. That crappy drop-in K&N probably has caused some oil residue to get on the MAF wire. Plus, if there was carbon behind your valves, unless it was real bad, it should only cause a stutter on immediate startup. That is because the carbon behind the valve(s) will absorb fuel until it gets saturated, which doesn't take but a few seconds.

You can clean the MAF using some rubbing alcohol and a q-tip, but be cautious because that little wire is fragile as hell. Good luck. I hope this helps you fix your problem.

the winter blends tend to have lower emissions with lower ambient temperatures IIRC. the summer blends are made to be used in higher ambient temps.

For a FEW BUCKS verus a few hundred, try seafoam. It may just save you some cash. If it doesn't work for your stang, move on to the MAF and then ???

Thanks 4 all the help everyone. Sorry it takes me so long to reply, I dont have a computer and I can only check back every couple of days. I think I am going to try the seafoam and cleaning out my maf. I will keep u posted on the results. Thanx again

when you go buy the seafoam buy some electrical cleaner in the aerosol can for the maf
