Okay, I am about to order some 4.10s, but I was wondering if there was any other mod that would be better. To clarify my situation, I have the mods in my sig plus a Prochamber I got for Christmas. If I get gears they will not be on until spring when I get my Predator. I don't mind waiting, but not sure if there was anything better to get with my money (under $200). I could not think of anything better. I'm not questioning which ratio or brand, just if anything would be more beneficial than gears that I'm not thinking of. Thanks!

I was thinking springs, but do you think I'd need new shocks/struts to go along? I bought the straight shot mostly for the looks factor. My plan is to have a KB on there in 5 years (When I have no more car payment. 03 Mustang + 01 Dakota = $$$$)

you don't need new shocks/struts by any means. if your drop is over maybe 1.75 inches then yea i'd say you may as well do it all, including C/C plates, BUT, you could do like i did (on my GT) and get eibach pro-kit and then wait a while for the shocks/struts

gears are going to give you the biggest performance gains for under that amount. so it really just depends on what you are wanting

Hmmm. A conundrum (does anyone use that word anymore?). Gears or springs. Maybe if I'm good enough I'll be able to get gears in March when I get my tuner, that way I could do springs now. Beau, between this and wine selection I owe you my first born.

figure if you want that lowered look and better handling, go with the springs. gears are gonna run you maybe 500-600 total, including a speedcal and labor. can you wait till then or do you absolutely need to spend this money? personally, i'd do the springs. 150 or so bucks and you can install them yourself. then save up till spring for the gears

Gears should be cheaper. It'll be the cost of the gears and the install kit plus diff fluid. I have a mechanic friend who specialized in drivetrains for awhile who will install for $50. I figure the Predator will negate any need for a speed-cal. Are Eibachs best, because I see the Steeda Sport springs are on sale?

how much is the predator? 300-400 bucks right? gears are about 160, plus the install kit for like 50, then add 50 for the install, so you are near 650 or so bucks total cost..springs should be 150-200. i prefer eibach or H&R super sports personally but i bet the steedas are just fine.

Thanks! Yeah, I was already planning on the Predator, but I was thinking of just buying the gears now and waiting to install. But I'm sure I can get myself the gears in March. My fiancee is very cool about me buying this stuff.

i would go with gears over anything. i mean getting the car a little lower might make it look cool but i think i would rather feel performance and gears will definetly put a little giddy-up in any stang. By the way i didnt notice if u were a automatic or standard car if auto i would seggest 4.10's but if man then the 3.73 i installed in my car work awesome

The Eibach Pro kit is a good
quality set of springs! They make for a great drop I recommend them.
