Help, Am i screwed?

I was putting on my new injectors and the fuel disconnect line slipped out of my hand and fell down the intake runner and into the cylinder

. Is there any way of getting it out without pulling the head. This is my daily driver and i need to drive this car. Its plastic, do you think i might be able to get away with starting it and maybe melting it? I'm afraid that its going to get caught up in a valve and then the valave is going to hit my piston. Any suggestions? please!!

I doubt that it got past the intake valve. Remove the lower manifold and use a set of mechanical fingers to fish it out

i saw it fall in. That valve just happened to be open. I tried sticking a tube with a vacuum on it, but that didn't work.

dont start and pray it will melt, that will cause hella damage regardless what you think. if that thing melts and blocks an intake/exhaust passage or gets wedged between the cylinder and valve, it would be bad news.

Most of the plastic clip tools I have seen I do not think would get passed a valve, they do not open far enough. Are you sure it is not down in the head, a mechanical finger like JR suggested is all I can think off.

It will not melt and go away, you need to get it out. This is one reason I always tape up open ports if I am working on a motor, accidents happen.

Could you pull the manifold and see? If the valve was open, then the piston should be close to TDC, if not at, and maybe then you can fish it out.

taping up the runners was the next thing i was going to do. I'm gonna kick myself in the ass for weeks for that one. I'm gonna pull the inake manifold, but i can see the valve in there and the toolis not there. The head gasket is 59.88 through summit. Damn o-ringed heads

Your Screwed Man..... Start Wrenching!

At least your aware that it fell in there, can you imagine if you didn't know.... you'd be doing a hell of alot more then just pulling a head. Consider yourself lucky in a way.

Try fishing around with a bendable magnet...they usually have them at parts stores...I dropped a washer in the front of my oil pan by accident (removing timing cover) and it slid between the paper towels I put in the gap and I just got a magnet and fished around and got it out...

The Only problem with that is, the clip he dropped down the runner's is plastic..... The chances of a Magnet picking that up are 0.

What can a piece of plastic really do? I don't think it can bend metal, it would probably just break up and go shooting out the exhaust pipe. How big is it?

its small enought to fit between ther valve. I bought some air holds and i'm going to try to blow it out with the compressor. i also bought some mechanical fingers, hopeully something wll work.

How about a mechanical snake with some sticky "elephant snot" or on it? You might get lucky.

I can not see it getting past the valve....its just too big. You sure you haven't overlooked it in another runner? I mean, just pull the intake...you'll find it. If its in the cylinder, remove the headers and try and fish it out if you don't want to pull the heads.
