Help ASAP exhaust

Today as I was driving home one of my aftermarket cats decided to blow into pieces. I just got a quote of 230 to have one new one installed. What should I do? My exhaust is completely custom aluminized steel and has seen a couple of winters, x-pipe and catback all welded up. My options are either to get it fixed by replacing one cat or to get a new system. Opinions please.

Do you honestly need the cats

if you don't need them you can get an o/r x-pipe for 130
you could probly customize your current system to go without cats
I just don't like cats i'm sorry

Yes, I don't like cats either so another option is to replace both cats with exhaust tubing but then I would need to either get mil eliminators or a xcalibrator. I can't get just a new midpipe because of how my ecxhaust is completely custom, nothing would match up.

I am assuming he just took it to an exhaust shop and had them make the exhaust as opposed to buying off the shelf kits.

I'd ditch the cats alltogether and go w/an O/R mid pipe. Chances are if they have to do some cutting due to the welds, the $ will increase so maybe you can offset this w/an O/R pipe. Plus, the better flowing exhuast is nice, too.

What I meant by custom was this, the previous owner took it to an exhaust shop and had them make an x-pipe and cat back, there are a lot of pieces and all are welded, the quality isn't the greatest but it is also not bad.

Options:
1.) Weld in two pipes to replace cats
2.) Mac h pipe and pro dumps (full replacement and cheap)
3.) Dr gas x-pipe and mac stainless catback

I don't know about replacing just one cat for $230 because the same thing will probably happen to the other one. I need to do this soon because I don't want to drive the car as it is. Anybodys input is greatly appreciated.

i just orderd a MAC catted H pipe and Flowpath catback for under 650 shipped...

as long as that custom exhaust isnt welded to the headers.. thats probably the way to go.

There's days I think about cutting off the socket-type connectors on all of my Mac exhaust and welding them all together. I get so frustrated with the stupid exhaust leaks sometimes. I have to get down there and readjust it all at least once every two months, sometimes more, to stop those sockets from leaking.
