Ok,

So I had a used Bassani X-pipe that a friend gave me and had it installed. Now I have a exhaust leak on the drivers side header flange.

Seems the X-pipe flange is hitting parts of the bolts on the header and not letting the ball seat properly.

Is there supposed to be a gasket or anything on that side? Or should I just scrap the used part and get a brand new X-pipe?

there should be a "spacer" that came with the kit that goes between the new downtube pipe and the header ball joint. the inside diameter of the new downpipes is a bit larger than the outside diameter of the header ball and thus does not seal correctly without installing the spacer.

I did the same thing, replaced the studs with the above mentioned part number. The new studs have NO collar and allow you to properly mate aftermarket midpipes without having to use one of these:

I bought THIS and THIS, install was super easy.

So I get the studs in, and still a leak. I got this x-pipe used, and did not get a spacer.

It seems that the flanges don't line up right and there is a gap on the top/left (looking from below) that I can't get closed.

If there is supposed to be a spacer, anyone know where I can get one?

Maybe I should just scrap this one and buy a brand new one?

Don't scrap it, just get those parts the others were talking about it should be A OK.

If that doesn't work and you decide to scrap it, I'll give you my address and cover shipping ;-)

Well I got the napa studs in, but still did not fit right.

Finally took it to an exhaust shop (muffler Masters) that Muscle Motors recommended. They custom made part of the X-pipe and made it fit perfect. They also fixed a few problems with my MAC cat back and now my exhaust fits about 2" higher so it won't drag on speed bumps.

Overall it sounds pretty good....

Thanks all for your help...

I do not do exhaust work. I feel that work is best left to a shop that specializes in it. Its just too much of a hassle.
