alright soo about 2-3 months ago late at night my harmonic balancer went out and i replaced it that night.i used a balancer puller but when using it...like a dumbass, i forgot to put on the end peice on the puller where it pushes on the crank soo it started to thread directly into the crank...when i realized this i pulled it back out and got a die and hoped i didnt strip it at all...and i put the new balancer on and everything has been perfect ever since...until today i was driving home and came to a stop and when the car idled down it started shaking like crazy...so i got home and checked it out....its leaking oil bad..and its spinning out soo its most likely coming out of the crank spinning...and there is a crack in the piece coming out of the block...soo one of my questions is,what is that piece coming right out of the block...is it part of the crank or the balancer?and any other input would be very appreciated.

more than likely its part of the balancer, because the balancer fits over the crank shaft. pull it off and check it out

you might need to add some blue rtv on the keyway..

piece coming right out of the block...

umm crank, then the balancer goes over the crank.

there is no hole in the crank if thats wut ur thinkin.

This is the reason I don't do motor work on my car, I leave it to the professionals, so when they F stuff up, its on their hands to fix it. Of you cracked the crank, you got major problems on your hands...
