HELP! Bouncing off rev limiter w/ predator tuner

car is a 01 GT w. auto trans with 3.73 gears. Ive manually went in and set rev limiter at 5800. even putting shift points at 5600 and pegs at 6k and will bounce on limiter for 2 seconds before it shifts. Any help is much appreciated.

BTW... it did this on the diablo canned tune before i ever touched anything

Your rev limiter is set way to low, Factory redline is 6200 !

I have my rev limiter set at 6300 on my tuner !

I may be out of my normal league, allow me to take an educate guess.

The shift point is too close to the rev limiter. The transmission does not have enough time to complete it's shift before the engine hits the limiter.

Take a look at the paragraph about Rev limiter and rear end ratios. IMO, it applies in this case.

^ you got it, set the rev at 6200 and shift points at 5800, this shoud give the slow ass 4R70W time to shift at around 6100/6200 or so !

Also do you have a shift kit or J-Mod ?

Ill go try that. and no j-mod or kit. Planned on swapping in a 5 speed after the 1st of year

Well with shift set a 5750 and rev at 6200 it still bounces!

How's your trans? Perhaps it's simply slow to shift due to low line pressure, wear, damage or some other reason.

It seems fine. Has 144k female driven miles so it had a pretty easy life. My mom bought it new and when she bought her shelby I acquired this turd guess ill keep playing with it some more

The AOD is VERY slow to complete a shift and on the 1-2, you still aren't giving it enough time. You are reving very quickly through 1st and you find the rev limiter before it can complete the shift still.
What was the factory shift point before you started playing? I think it was rediculously low, like 4500, but then it actually performed the shift at 5500 due to the time delay to shift. Set the shift point to 4500, and work your way up until the actual shift occurs when you want it to.

Just keep dropping the shift point little by little until it makes the shift at around 6200 !
